Three apartments in a colonial building in Getsemaní, Cartagena. Owners living in Belgium, 8,000 km away. A neighborhood with power cuts, water outages and guests arriving at all hours.
What was set up
Self-check-in with a street door code and an apartment code, detailed welcome guides per apartment, a family-led local team with written roles, a communication ladder from platform chat to administrator, water tanks, fiber internet since 2020 and automated guest messages.
How it runs today
The host answers messages during the European day and evening. The local team covers the Colombian day and the emergency line at night. Cleaners arrive at the 11 AM check-out with strict instructions.
